New Group Coaching: Navigating the Journey of a Career Transition

“A transition always starts with an ending. To become something else, you have to stop being what you are now; to start doing things a new way, you have to end the way you are doing them now; and to develop a new attitude or outlook, you have to let go of the old.”

William Bridges

Time and time again, we hear the professionals we work with say they feel stuck.

And the statistics show it, too. According to a study by Forbes, more than half of U.S. workers are unsatisfied in their jobs. And that was before the pandemic!

This year, when many people turned their dining rooms (or worse, laundry rooms) into their offices, made their pets their co-workers, and stocked up on “Zoom shirts,” the feeling of dissatisfaction seems to have grown stronger than ever. A lot of people are wondering out loud, “What am I doing?” or “Is this it?”

But even though this feeling of being unfulfilled is real, the reality of making a job or career transition is anything but simple. You have to come to terms with the end of one thing before you can begin another. And you might not even know what you want to do next, or where to begin. It can be intimidating to make a change.

We totally get it, and we want to help.

That’s why we’re excited about “Navigating the Journey of a Career Transition,” a new group coaching experience designed to help people who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and maybe even a little afraid, discover a personalized, do-able path to finding work they love.

One of the reasons we’re so excited about the group coaching format is because we know that when you’re setting out on a journey you need good company. Group coaching gives you the opportunity to grow by learning from others who are experiencing the same challenges as you. Our groups are big enough to help you leverage some collective intelligence, but small enough to give you the comfort and safety you need to open up. Tapping into each other’s support, encouragement, and experience will inspire you and help you to show up differently. That’s important to your transition because any change, any new beginning, requires you to be, do, and think differently than you are today.

Transitions’ coaching group is designed to help you learn how to let go of the old, explore and discover the new, and take action. More specifically, participants can expect to achieve:

  • An understanding that every external change is accompanied by an internal transition. We’ll show you the map of the territory you’ll be traveling.
  • Clarity about what exactly might be keeping you stuck. We’ll help you identify the internal saboteurs to your new future.
  • Discovery of what’s most important to you. We’ll help you create a “litmus test” as you consider potential new paths.
  • Recognition of your strengths, values, and skills. We’ll show you how these become critical to your exploration.
  • A personalized plan to finding your new job or career. We’ll help you gain the direction you need to chart your path and sustain your momentum.

Our groups meet virtually over seven weeks and include both group and individual sessions. Plus, participants are paired up with each other to further their exploration and learning outside of the group meetings.

We’re excited to kick off our next group in a virtual session on Saturday, January 23, 2021. If you think you’re ready to start your transition, reach out today!
